Pumpkin spice is coming… for your turkey.
Reynolds Kitchen, the company behind Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil, is proposing that American families change things up this Thanksgiving and embrace one of the trendies flavors of the season.
The brand has created a new recipe for a pumpkin spice-flavored turkey just in time for the patriotic holiday, as well as a second turkey recipe that pairs the poultry with macaroni and cheese.
This turkey is extra! Reynolds Wrap has created recipes for some unusual Thanksgiving day dishes, including a traditional roasted turkey covered in a pumpkin spice rub
Yum! They also have a recipe for a Mac and Cheese Turkey with macaroni and cheese garnish
Flavoring: It’s dusted with two packets of powdered cheese found in boxed macaroni and cheese.
The Pumpkin Spice Turkey is cooked inside an oven bag and made quite similarly to other roast turkeys — except for the rub.
The brand offers up a homemade pumpkin spice mixture made with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, cloves, and salt.
The Mac and Cheese Turkey, meanwhile, is a bit less natural in its ingredient list but a lot more nostalgic.
It’s dusted with two packets of powdered cheese found in boxed macaroni and cheese. After it’s cooked, Reynolds suggests serving it with cooked macaroni and cheese as garnish.
Last year, Reynolds Wrap released a recipe for an Edible Glitter Turkey which was covered in edible pink glitter.
Give thanks for sparkle! Reynolds made a recipe for glitter turkey last Thanksgiving
Just some decoration: The sparkle shouldn’t change the taste of the bird
Tasty! The brand also put out a recipe for a Mountain Dew turkey that’s brined in citrus soda
‘Make your Thanksgiving turkey the coolest on Instagram with these fun hacks and creative turkey recipes,’ the brand said.
The glitter turkey is made just like any other turkey, roasting in the oven for several hours, depending on weight.
But there’s one exception: Before it goes in the oven, it’s dusted in an edible glitter made from Gum-Tex powder, water, and food coloring.
In addition to a much glitzier platter of poultry, the brand also debuted a recipe for Mountain Dew turkey.
This one is made by brining the bird in a Mountain Dew mixture before cooking, which may sound outrageous but would likely just result in the turkey having a slight citrus flavor.
The brand’s outrageous turkey recipes first made headlines the year before, in 2017.
Hot turkey! In 2017, Reynolds Kitchens published a recipe for a turkey covered in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
Another option: The company also put out a recipe for a ranch-flavored bird
Snacks for dinner: Finally, there was a crunchy onion-flavored turkey recipe (like with Funyuns) in their 2017 line-up
That Thanksgiving, they published recipes for a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos turkey that intrigued fans.
They also shared a similar recipe that requires ‘ranch-flavored corn chips’ like Cool Ranch Doritos, which created an extra-crispy flavorful skin.
There was a third snack food turkey, too, covered in ‘onion-flavored rings’ like Funyuns.
In 2018, Reynolds added a few fun stuffing varieties to the line-up.
There was a Big Mac Stuffing, Crunch Wrap Supreme Stuffing, and Popeyes Fried Chicken and Biscuits Stuffing.
The Big Mac one is made by mixing actual chopped-up cheeseburgers with spices and beef stock, while the Crunch Wrap Supreme one has taco pieces, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.
The Fried Chicken one is — you guessed it — fried chicken and biscuit-based.
